For our pencils, products like eyeliners and shadow sticks, we work with manufacturers in Italy.
Italy has been producing cosmetics for decades, and that experience matters. The country has built an international reputation for precision formulation, advanced pigment technology, and craftsmanship in products like pencils and powders. These are not simple products to make well. Achieving the perfect glide, pigment payoff, and stability requires incredibly specialized knowledge.
Italian manufacturers have spent generations refining these techniques. The labs are deeply rooted in cosmetic artistry, with teams who understand color, texture, and formulation down to the smallest detail.
When we were developing our pencils, we wanted the best expertise possible to bring our formulas to life. That meant partnering with people who have been doing this exceptionally well for a very long time.
There’s also something else I admire deeply about Italian manufacturing: their passion for quality. It shows up in the details, in the pride people take in their craft, and in the insistence on getting things just right.
I may be biased, but my husband is Italian, and that passion for quality is real.

At the same time, Canada is an incredible place to make beauty products.
We produce several of our products here because Canada offers strong regulatory oversight, growing innovation in clean formulations, and a culture that increasingly values sustainability and ingredient transparency.
But if we’re being honest about the global beauty industry, cosmetic manufacturing in Canada is still relatively young compared to some parts of the world. Many regions have had decades or even generations, longer to develop specialized expertise in certain product categories.
Canada is getting there, and the progress is exciting. We’re seeing more labs focused on natural formulations, more innovation in sustainable packaging, and more brands investing in responsible production.
