Cheekbone Beauty is an Indigenous owned and founded, digitally-native, Canadian cosmetics company established in 2016 by Jennifer Harper. Based out of St. Catharines, Ontario, Cheekbone Beauty is known for creating high quality, cruelty-free beauty products such as liquid lipsticks and complexion products including contour and highlight palettes.

Keeping in line with her Anishinaabe roots, Jenn’s Cheekbone Beauty is launching a less-waste line of lipsticks later in 2020, with zero-waste goals for 2023. Cheekbone’s aim is to not only make a difference in the lives of Indigenous youth through our donations addressing the educational funding gap.  But mostly to create a space in the beauty industry where Indigenous youth feel represented and seen.

Since 2017 Cheekbone Beauty has donated over $5505.

The real impact is felt through the emails, DM's and conversation with Indigenous that are really feeling their value in the world.  The parents and caregivers that are sharing how Cheekbone Beauty has affected their children.

The Cheekbone Mission

At Cheekbone Beauty we are on a mission to create sustainable, vegan, clean colour cosmetics while helping Indigenous youth see their enormous value by constructing a truly socially conscious beauty brand.

Our Vision

Every Indigenous youth will see themselves and their value in the world.
"My entire life I was made to feel ashamed of my cheekbones; Jen Harper has created a beautiful brand with beautiful Indigenous women in mind." @TiaraBeth

Our Core Values

Honesty and Integrity – Cheekbone Beauty is a radically transparent beauty brand.  We practice integrity in everything we do, even when you are not looking.

100% Complete Customer Satisfaction – We only exist because of the beautiful community around us; at Cheekbone we strive to make the experience seamless and memorable.  We listen and build and make products based on what our community needs from us.

Courageously Curious – The most innovate ideas come from thinking about things differently.  We encourage our whole community to re-think, dig deep on every idea put in front of you. Sometimes this means going against the world’s way of thinking or being, that takes courage.

Compassion – In this tough cold world Cheekbone Beauty’s teams strives to make everyone in our community feel loved.  We want this to be a safe place to be vulnerable, share, you are entering completely judgement-free ethos.  Mistakes happen, perfection doesn’t exist, but we believe in listening to understand one another. LOVE is at the core of Cheekbone Beauty, the kind of love that is about helping someone who may never be able to pay you back, we are here to be in service to our community.

Our 2020 Sustainability Initiatives

If you follow our brand you know whole-heartedly, we are working really hard to make big changes in the way develop and sell products.  Our first goal has been to sustainable Indigenous communities by empowering the youth with representation and by addressing unequal education issues.

Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.

Our 'Greener' Goals for 2020 through 2023

  1. Eliminating single-use plastic by 2023.
  2. Refill options by 2023.
  3. Biodegradable packaging and compostable packaging all by 2023.
  4. All raw ingredients from plant or bio-based sources by 2023.
  5. Cultural sustainability hiring Indigenous people, using Indigenous languages and training and development programs for all employees as well as our planned Indigenous Youth Scholarship Fund.
